Film: Purple Rain (1984) (view the trailer here)
Rated R; 1 hr 51 min
Hosted by: Jimmy Greene
In Purple Rain, a young man with a talent for music has begun a career with much promise. He meets an aspiring singer, Apollonia, and finds that talent alone isn't all that he needs. A complicated tale of his repeating his father's self destructive behavior, losing Apollonia to another singer (Morris Day), and his coming to grips with his own connection to other people ensues.
Here’s how you can be a part of the discussion:

- Register for the discussion you would like to join. The event is free but registration is required. The registration deadline is 7 PM on the day of the discussion.
- Connect with people from around the region and enjoy some Reel Talk!
Jimmy Greene is the CEO of Associated Builders & Contractors, and is active in the community, having served on or is currently serving on over 15 Non profit Boards. Jimmy first saw Prince in 1978 at EMU and and since seen him 17 times in concert. There are Prince fans and then there's Jimmy...
Why did Jimmy select this film? Prince was always a mystery to even his biggest fans (count me as the biggest). He hid so much of himself behind his music. In Purple Rain he let the world in and for me gave me permission to find out more about him....I did.
Registration will close at 7 PM on Wednesday, July 15. The Zoom link will be sent to the registrants by 7:15 PM that evening, for the discussion to begin promptly at 7:30 PM.
